Job Details

• Location: Sherwood Park, AB
• Work Setting: Barbershop or hairstyling salon/studio
• Salary: $20.00 per hour, 40 hours per week
• Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full-time
• Special Commitments: Morning, Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, Shift, On call
• Vacancies: 5

Responsibilities

• Cut and trim hair according to client’s instructions or preferences
• Shampoo customers’ hair
• Shave and trim beards and mustaches
• Provide other hair treatments, such as waving, straightening, or tinting and scalp conditioning massages
• Supervise apprentices/students in training
• Maintain and order supplies

Experience and Specialization

• Hair Styling Techniques: Blow drying, Iron waving/curling, Spiking
• Hair Colouring Techniques: Bleach, Dyes/tints, Frosting, Streaking/highlights

Supervision

• Supervise 1 to 2 people

Qualifications

• Education: Other trades certificate or diploma
• Experience: 1 to less than 7 months

• Combination of sitting, standing, walking; standing for extended periods
