Job Overview

Our client is seeking a Welder. This position offers visa sponsorship for overseas candidates and welcomes applications from candidates, with or without a valid Canadian work permit. We encourage international applicants to apply for this opportunity.

Job Details

• Location: Mississauga, ON
• Work Location: On site
• Salary: $36.75 per hour
• Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time
• Hours: 32 to 40 hours per week

Responsibilities

• Interpret welding process specifications
• Operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment
• Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals, and processes
• Examine welds to ensure they meet standards and/or specifications
• Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment
• Operate brakes, shears, and other metal shaping, straightening, and bending machines
• Fit, braze, and torch-straighten metal
• Determine the weldability of materials
• Operate hoisting and lifting equipment
• Operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products
• Start up, shut down, adjust, and monitor robotic welding production line
• Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing, and soldering equipment

Job Requirements

• Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
• Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year
• Language: English

Work Environment

• Dusty and noisy work site
• Fast-paced environment
• Physically demanding job requiring attention to detail and hand-eye coordination
• Standing for extended periods
• Weight handling of up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Additional Information

• Public transportation is available
• Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots required
