Job Overview

Position: Early Childhood Educator (ECE)

Job Location: Grande Prairie, AB

Work Setting: Child care centre

Salary: $19.50 per hour, 32 to 40 hours per week

Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time

Visa Sponsorship: Support for overseas candidates available, with options for individuals with or without a valid Canadian work permit.

Responsibilities

• Bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers.
• Develop and implement child-care programs supporting children’s development.
• Supervise staff, trainees, or volunteers.
• Lead activities such as storytelling and teaching songs.
• Encourage creativity through art, dramatic play, and physical activity.
• Guide children in developing proper habits.
• Observe children for potential learning or behavioral issues.
• Plan and maintain a safe and healthy environment for children.

Qualifications

• Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate/diploma (1-2 years).
• Experience: 1 to less than 2 years in a similar role.
• Certificates:
  • Child Development Assistant (ECE Level 1)
  • Child Development Supervisor (ECE Level 3)
  • Child Development Worker (ECE Level 2)
  • Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate
  • First Aid Certificate
