Position: Early Childhood Educator (ECE)

Salary: $33.25/hour, 35 to 40 hours per week

Job Details

Education Requirements

• College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
• Or equivalent experience

Experience Requirements

• 1 year to less than 2 years

Responsibilities

• Assist co-workers in housekeeping and cooking duties
• Bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers
• Develop and implement child-care programs supporting children’s physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development
• Maintain daycare equipment
• Storytelling and engaging children in various activities
• Order supplies and equipment
• Assist in keeping records and preparing reports for parents
• Establish guidelines for behavior
• Plan and organize activities for school-age children in before and after care

Credentials

• Child development supervisor (ECE level 3)
• Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate
• First Aid Certificate
• CPR Certificate

Security and Safety

Transportation/Travel Information

• Valid driver’s license required
