Job Overview

Our client is seeking an Ethnic Food Cook. This role is available for international applicants, including those with or without a valid Canadian work permit. Potential visa sponsorship options are considered.

• Location: 280 LESTER STREET, Waterloo, ON, N2L 3W5
• Work Location: On site
• Salary: $56,200 annually / 30 to 40 hours per week
• Terms of Employment: Permanent employment, Full time
• Special Commitments: Morning, Day, Evening, Weekend, Shift

Responsibilities

• Determine the size of food portions and costs
• Plan menus and estimate food requirements
• Requisition food and kitchen supplies
• Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes
• Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
• Prepare and cook special meals as instructed by dietitian or chef
• Inspect kitchens and food service areas
• Train staff in food preparation and handling
• Order supplies and equipment
• Supervise kitchen staff and helpers
• Maintain inventory and records of food and supplies
• Clean kitchen and work areas

Experience and Qualifications

• Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
• Languages: English
• Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years
• Cuisine Specialties: East Indian
