Responsibilities

Tasks

• Assess the children’s development to prepare a tailored learning plan.
• Assist co-workers in housekeeping and cooking duties.
• Bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers.
• Develop and implement child-care programs to support children’s development.
• Maintain daycare equipment.
• Engage in storytelling.
• Supervise staff, trainees, or volunteers.
• Communicate children’s overall situation to parents.
• Assist early childhood educators in implementing supportive programs.
• Lead activities such as storytelling and teaching songs.
• Order supplies and equipment.
• Keep records for early childhood educators or supervisors.
• Encourage children’s creativity through arts and activities.
• Prepare snacks and arrange furniture for meal and rest times.
• Observe children for learning or behavioral issues and prepare reports.
• Submit written observations to educators or supervisors.
• Discuss children’s progress in staff meetings.
• Knowledge of licensing regulations.
• Establish behavior guidelines.
• Attend meetings to discuss children’s progress.
• Collaborate with co-workers and community service providers.
• Plan a safe and healthy environment for children.
• Supervise and coordinate activities of early childhood educators and assistants.
