Overview

Our client is seeking experienced long haul truck drivers to join their team. This role offers support for candidates, with or without a valid Canadian work permit.

Job Details

• Location: Caledon East, ON
• Work Location: On site
• Salary: $36.00 hourly / 30 to 40 hours per week
• Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full time
• Vacancies: 2

Responsibilities

• Calculate the cost of truck repairs and new parts as needed.
• Plan or adjust routes using GPS and other navigation devices to minimize fuel consumption and emissions.
• Coach colleagues on work techniques.
• Arrange travel and make reservations.
• Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy.
• Load and unload goods.
• Obtain required permits for transporting cargo on international routes.
• Operate and inspect straight or articulated trucks to transport goods.
• Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections.
• Conduct emergency roadside repairs and preventive maintenance.
• Record cargo information, hours of service, and fuel consumption.

Qualifications

• Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
• Languages: English
• Experience: Will train
• Certificates: AZ class license, Class 1/1F/A Licence (semi trailer trucks), Air Brake (Z) Endorsement
