Job Details

• Location: Lac La Biche, AB
• Salary: $25.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
• Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time
• Work Setting: On-site at a veterinary clinic and animal hospital

Responsibilities

• Handle, restrain, and care for animals undergoing treatment and surgery.
• Assist the veterinarian during surgery.
• Prepare and administer medications and vaccines under the direction of a veterinarian.
• Administer treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian.
• Conduct laboratory research and assist in procedures.
• Perform routine dental procedures and assist with dental care.
• Provide nursing care and rehabilitation therapy for animals.
• Offer wound care and manage bandaging.

Requirements

• Education: College diploma from a program lasting 3 months to less than 1 year, or equivalent experience
• Experience: Previous experience is an asset
• Languages: Proficient in English

Work Conditions

• Fast-paced and physically demanding environment
• Requires standing for extended periods and occasional bending, crouching, or kneeling
• Attention to detail and strong hand-eye coordination is necessary
• Ability to work under pressure
