Job Overview

Our client is seeking a Transport Truck Mechanic to join their team. This position offers the potential for visa sponsorship for international applicants, including candidates with or without a valid Canadian work permit.

Job Details

• Location: 1600A Prince Rupert Blvd, Prince Rupert, BC, V8J 3S1
• Work Location: On site
• Salary: $40.00 to $50.00 hourly (negotiable) for 40 hours per week
• Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full-time
• Special Commitments: Day, Overtime available

Responsibilities

• Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of commercial transport truck systems.
• Confirm findings with supervisor to determine whether to repair or replace unit.
• Discuss work with supervisor.
• Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions.
• Review work orders and conduct road tests on motor vehicles.
• Estimate parts and labour costs to perform maintenance and repairs.
• Advise customers on work performed and future repair requirements.
• Coach and instruct apprentices.

Qualifications

• Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
• Experience: 1 to 2 years
• Certification: Truck and Transport Mechanic Trade Certification
