Our client is seeking a structural metal and platework fabricator for a permanent, full-time position. This role is ideal for candidates looking for visa sponsorship opportunities.

Job Details

• Location: Edmonton, AB
• Work Location: On-site
• Salary: $36.50 per hour for 35 hours per week
• Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full-time
• Overtime Required: Yes

Responsibilities

• Determine materials required
• Interpret engineering drawings and other instructions to plan methods and sequences of operation
• Lay out reference points and patterns
• Plan the sequence of tasks to cut metal most efficiently
• Study engineering drawings and blueprints
• Assemble and fit plates and sections to form structures
• Weld or bolt sections together
• Set up and operate heavy-duty metal-working machines
• Construct patterns and templates
• Install fabricated components in final product
• Rig, hoist, and move materials to storage areas or within the worksite

Experience and Qualifications

• Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
• Experience: 3 to less than 5 years in a similar role
• Welding Techniques: ARC spot, Gas metal arc welding (GMAW)
• Machinery Experience: Cutting torches, Drills, Grinder
• Area of Specialization: Structural metal or steel
