Job Title: Truck Driver, Long Haul

Job Overview

Our client is looking for a dedicated truck driver for long-haul transportation. This role is physically demanding and involves working as part of a team, ensuring effective delivery and safety of cargo while minimizing fuel consumption.

Responsibilities

• Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions using GPS and navigation devices.
• Address customer complaints and concerns.
• Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy.
• Load and unload goods.
• Obtain special permits for transporting cargo internationally.
• Operate and drive trucks to transport goods and materials.
• Inspect the condition of vehicles and perform routine maintenance.
• Conduct pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections.
• Ensure safety and security of cargo.

Requirements

Education

• Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.

Experience

• Experience in long-haul transportation is an asset.

Credentials

• Valid Driver’s License (Class 1 or A).

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities

• Physically demanding and involves repetitive tasks.
• Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs).

Security and Safety

• Criminal record check.
• Driving record check.
• Drug test.
