• Location: Edmonton, AB
• Work Location: On-site
• Salary: $31.75 to $36.00 hourly (to be negotiated)
• Terms of Employment: Permanent, full-time
• Work Hours: 32 to 40 hours per week

Overview

• Languages: English
• Education: College, CEGEP or non-university certificate or diploma (1 to 2 years) or equivalent experience.
• Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years in telephone installation and repair.

Responsibilities

• Repair cable signals.
• Diagnose and locate equipment faults; adjust, replace, or repair telecommunications equipment.
• Inspect operation of telecommunications equipment.
• Install, arrange, remove, and maintain telephone equipment and wiring.
• Repair or replace defective telephone equipment.
• Test installed telephone systems to locate transmission faults.
• Analyze test results and repair associated equipment and software.
• Complete and maintain test and service reports.
• Instruct apprentices.
• Climb and work aloft on poles or ladders.
• Connect, disconnect, and relocate cable outlets.

Requirements

• Security and Safety: Basic security clearance; driver’s validity licence check.
• Transportation: Valid driver’s licence required.
• Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, attention to detail, ability to distinguish between colours.
• Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
• Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots required.
