Job Overview

Our client is seeking a Building Maintenance Worker to join their team in Fort McMurray, AB. This is a permanent, full-time position with opportunities for visa sponsorship available. We encourage international candidates to apply, as immigration support may be considered.

Job Details

• Location: Fort McMurray, AB
• Salary: $36.00 per hour
• Work Hours: 30 to 40 hours per week
• Work Setting: On site
• Terms of Employment: Permanent employment, full-time

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, scrub and wax hallways, floors, and stairs.
• Operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove scraps, dirt, and heavy debris.
• Empty trash cans and other waste containers.
• Make minor repairs to heating, cooling, plumbing, and electrical systems.
• Perform safety and security checks, and show apartments and offices to prospective tenants.
• Perform other routine maintenance jobs such as painting, drywall repair, and cleaning bathrooms.
• Work with minimal supervision and handle snow and ice removal from walkways.

Experience and Qualifications

• Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
• Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years in a similar role.
• Skills: Dependability, excellent oral and written communication, flexibility, organization, and reliability.
• Certificates: Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate.

Work Environment

• Work under pressure in various weather conditions.
• Perform physically demanding tasks and handle heavy loads (up to 50 lbs).
• Work in both repetitive and diverse task settings.
