Position Summary

Under the general direction of the Executive Director, Human Resources, this position is responsible for supporting the effective delivery and quality support of Human Resources services for our client’s Corporate Services team members across Canada. In this role, you act as a strategic partner to the business and team members, providing support for all touchpoints in the team member lifecycle, such as talent onboarding and training, absence management, employee relations, and performance achievement management. The Human Resources Business Partner acts on team member requests and changes, processes documentation and related systems updates as needed, as well as provides guidance and generally supports the team member’s experience at our client.

Key Accountabilities

HR Business Partnering

• Provides consultation on the interpretation and application of Human Resources policies and procedures to all levels of management and team members for the Corporate Services function.
• Acts as a trusted advisor to internal client groups and partners with team members across the Corporate Services teams on all human resources related matters.
• Coordinates and prepares Leave of Absence documentation for team members; maintains Leave of Absence files (such as protected and unprotected medical leave, worker’s compensation, bereavement, etc.), including the return-to-work program and processes.
• Coaches leaders through separation processes, including preparing termination paperwork in accordance with company policy and applicable legislation, participating in exit meetings, and conducting exit interviews as required.
• Supports immigration and relocation activities, as required.
• Responsible for onboarding and facilitates various training sessions to support the success of Corporate Services team members.
• Completes monthly reoccurring audits for existing HR processes and participates in internal and external audits as required.
• Supports the gaming registration/registration renewal process for Corporate Services team members. Responsible for the maintenance of the corporate registration matrix.
• Supports Health and Safety initiatives, including completing WSIB reporting for Corporate Services team members, as needed.

Internal Partnerships

• Partner with HR functions (Talent Acquisition, Labour Relations, Total Rewards, Leadership and Learning, HR Shared Services, Payroll, and Health and Safety) to support high-impact talent acquisition, effective learning and development programs, and Joint Health & Safety related initiatives to drive business results, encourage talent development, and support team member engagement, retention, and attraction.
• Liaise with other corporate departments such as Legal and Compliance for employment-related matters as appropriate.

Educational and Functional Requirements

• University degree or diploma in a relevant discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a progressive Human Resources Generalist role.
• CHRP designation is preferred.
• Goal-oriented with strong business acumen, service mindset, responsiveness, and good judgment.
• Excellent organization and prioritization skills, able to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships with leaders and a complex set of stakeholders to drive organizational change.
• Highly effective collaborator with a team and service mindset.
• Strong presentation and time management abilities.
• Ability to obtain and maintain gaming registrations as required.
• Solid MS Office skills, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; experience with Human Resources Information systems; Oracle HCM Cloud preferred.
