Job Opportunity for Long Haul Truck Driver

Our client is seeking a dedicated Long Haul Truck Driver. Visa sponsorship may be considered for international candidates with or without a valid Canadian work permit.

Job Details

• Location: RM of Sherwood, SK
• Work Location: On site
• Salary: $33.60 hourly, 30 to 60 hours per week
• Terms of Employment: Permanent full-time
• Vacancies: 32 vacancies

Responsibilities

• Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions using GPS or other navigation devices to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
• Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy.
• Load and unload goods.
• Oversee the condition of the vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment.
• Perform brake adjustments.
• Conduct inspections before, during, and after trips.
• Perform preventive maintenance.
• Receive and relay information to central dispatch.
• Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
• Tarp and ensure the safety and security of cargo.

Qualifications

• Education: No degree, certificate or diploma required.
• Experience: Experience is an asset.
• Languages: English
• Certificates and Licences:
  • Air Brakes Endorsement
  • Class 1/1F/A Licence (semi-trailer trucks)
  • Driver’s License (Class 1 or A)
