About the Role:

We are seeking a Director/Senior Director, Bioanalytical to join our team. This role will lead our Bioanalytical team, manage ADME assays, and oversee bio-analytical data on in vivo samples from studies. The successful candidate will also collaborate and guide scientific plans and strategies to develop compounds into development track candidates (DTCs).

This position reports to the Executive Vice President, Drug Discovery and will be based out of Vancouver, BC, Canada. The level of the position will be commensurate with the candidate’s education and industry experience. Relocation and immigration support will be provided, if required. This role is a hybrid position, requiring a minimum of 3-4 days per week in the office.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the Bioanalytical team, ensuring state-of-the-art methods are utilized.
• Collaborate with Discovery colleagues to develop and implement ADME and Bioanalytical plans.
• Lead program or project activities through assigned resources and/or with CROs.
• Contribute to the discovery management team and ensure decisions are carried through the Bioanalytical department.
• Compile ADME and PK data sections of regulatory documentation for assigned projects.
• Design and implement a learning and development program for the team.
• Critically evaluate scientific literature and integrate new information into the existing knowledge base.
• Contribute to scientific literature and presentations at conferences.
• Maintain detailed records of experiments and data analysis within an Electronic Lab Notebook.
• Ensure proper use and maintenance of all ADME and bio-analytical equipment.
• Maintain a safe and well-organized laboratory environment.
• Develop short- and long-term objectives for the function aligning with overall company strategies.
• Manage budget proposals and approved budgets.
• Recruit, lead, develop, coach, and evaluate direct reports, if any.
• Act in accordance with company policies.
• Some international travel may be required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in bioanalytical chemistry, biochemistry, or related field; a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
• Strong expertise in quantitative Mass Spectrometry applications for analytical chemistry.
• Proven experience in leading and managing scientific teams.
• Experience compiling ADME and PK data sections for regulatory documentation.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills.

Compensation and Benefits:

The base salary range for this role is $175,000 to $255,000 CAD; we will consider above this range for exceptional candidates. Base salary is determined by education, experience, and internal equity.
