Job Overview

Our client is seeking a Construction Helper. Visa sponsorship may be considered for international applicants. Candidates can apply with or without a valid Canadian work permit.

• Salary: $36.00 hourly / 35 to 40 hours per week
• Terms of Employment: Permanent employment, Full time

Responsibilities

• Calculate crane capacities.
• Load, unload and transport construction materials.
• Measure weight to prepare for rigging and hoisting.
• Operate mobile and tower cranes to lift, move, position or place equipment and materials.
• Perform pre-operational inspection.
• Read blueprints to determine work requirements.
• Clean and lubricate cranes.
• Operate pile driving cranes to provide support for buildings and structures.
• Instruct apprentices.
• Mix, pour and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt.
• Operate cranes equipped with dredging attachments.
• Operate gantry cranes to load and unload ship cargo at port side.
• Operate locomotive cranes at railway yards.

Requirements

• Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
• Experience: 1 to less than 7 months.
• Language: English.
