Our client is seeking an experienced cook to join their team. Visa sponsorship may be considered for overseas candidates.

• Location: Bedford, NS
• Work location: On site
• Salary: $16.25 hourly, 32 to 40 hours per week
• Terms of employment: Permanent full-time
• Work schedule: Day, Evening, Night, Weekend
• Vacancies: 2

Responsibilities

• Determine the size of food portions and costs
• Plan menus and estimate food requirements
• Requisition food and kitchen supplies
• Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes
• Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
• Prepare special meals as instructed by the dietitian or chef
• Inspect kitchens and food service areas
• Order supplies and equipment
• Supervise kitchen staff and helpers
• Maintain inventory and records of food and supplies
• Clean kitchen and work areas
• Manage kitchen operations

Qualifications

• Education: College, CEGEP, or a non-university diploma (1-2 years)
• Experience: 1-2 years of work experience
• Language Proficiency: English

Work Environment

The position is in a fast-paced restaurant environment, requiring handling heavy loads and working under pressure. Public transportation is available.
