Responsibilities

• Estimate amount and costs of supplies and food items
• Maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory
• Analyze operating costs and other data
• Demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to kitchen staff
• Supervise activities of specialist chefs, chefs, cooks, and other kitchen workers
• Create new recipes
• Prepare and cook food regularly and for special guests or functions
• Requisition food and kitchen supplies
• Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs
• Plan menus ensuring food quality standards are met
• Train staff in food preparation, cooking, and handling

Qualifications

• Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
• Experience: 2 to less than 3 years in a similar role, specializing in Japanese cuisine
• Languages: Proficient in English
• Personal suitability: Team player
