Job Overview

Our client is seeking a dedicated Truck Driver to join their team in Scarborough, ON. This position offers opportunities for international candidates, with or without a valid Canadian work permit. Immigration support may be provided for qualified applicants.

Job Details

• Location: Scarborough, ON

• Salary: $36.10 hourly / 30 to 40 hours per week

Responsibilities

• Load and unload goods
• Obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes
• Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
• Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment
• Perform brake adjustments and emergency roadside repairs
• Conduct pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections; oversee all aspects of vehicle operation
• Receive and relay information to central dispatch
• Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled, and fuel consumption
• Tarp and ensure the safety and security of cargo

Requirements

Education

• Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Experience

Experience is considered an asset.

Credentials

Certificates, Licences, Memberships, and Courses:

• AZ class license

Documentation Knowledge

• Driver logbook
• Inspection reports (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip)
• Maintenance and repair reports
• Trans-border documentation
• Trip reports
