Your Opportunity

An exciting opportunity exists for a Registered Nurse looking to work to their full-scope of practice who has a passion for providing leadership, direction, guidance, and patient- and family-centered care at a vibrant community health center. As a Clinical Nurse Educator, you will be a key member of the Clinical Education team, providing coaching, mentoring, and educational support to new hires as well as continued support to existing staff. You will play a key role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion, and health maintenance, acting as a resource for nursing staff.

In addition to a competitive rate of pay, the organization currently has a locality allowance in place, amounting to an annual maximum of $12,480, which is non-pensionable and payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate.

Description

As an Instructor, you will serve as an expert practitioner and key educator supporting both nursing staff and the multi-disciplinary clinical team. You will take a leadership role in planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating education for nursing staff, which includes orientation, compulsory and continuing education, and clinical development. You will collaborate with management and internal partners to promote standards of clinical, educational, and evidence-informed practice, aiming to provide safe, quality, patient- and family-centered care while reflecting shared vision and values.

Required Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
• Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the local nursing regulatory body.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience working in the Emergency Department within the last 2 years.
• Demonstration of continuing education in change management and leadership.
• Leadership and decision-making/problem-solving skills.
• Must be trained to charge, resuscitate, and triage.
• Strong assessment skills and proven written/oral communication skills.
• Experience in clinical education and/or formal adult learning and education.
• Proficiency in health information management systems, EMR and computer applications.
• Current ACLS, PALS, and CTAS provider courses.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge in Critical Care and Emergency Department.
• Current ACLS, PALS, and CTAS instructor statuses preferred.
• TNCC preferred.
