The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with physicians, nursing staff, and other Allied Health Disciplines covering this facility. This position is part of the Physiotherapy Department at the Valleyview Hospital, supporting patients in Acute Care, Long Term Care, Outpatients, and Home Care. This role is supported by one other Physiotherapist and Therapy Assistants, and you will work closely and collaboratively with the Occupational Therapist and Recreational Therapists. Close links and collaboration with teams in all departments are integral to our success in meeting patient goals. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, our client currently offers a Remote Retention Allowance of up to $3,000 annually. This allowance is non-pensionable and payable on an hourly basis for all hours worked at the basic rate.

Description:

As a Physiotherapist II, you will coordinate physiotherapy and allied health clinical services, providing supervision to students and team members as assigned. You will work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team, providing leadership to other healthcare professionals. Your duties will include making day-to-day clinical decisions on patient/family needs regarding assessment, intervention, discharge, and follow-up. You will advise team members on complex clinical cases and provide clinical leadership within the program or service area to ensure safe, efficient, and effective client care.

You will ensure that physiotherapy practice is evidence-based and aligns with legislation, professional standards of practice, code of ethics, and our client’s policies. Additionally, you will coordinate daily operations of an assigned service area, monitor care delivery, identify service needs, and assist other medical staff with caseload management. Your role also includes completing chart audits and providing follow-up and feedback to staff. Participation in program development and operational planning, as well as representing the department on committees or programs, will be required.

Our client is dedicated to supporting Physiotherapists in their practice area and expanding their skill sets across various locations. All Physiotherapists have access to a list of experienced clinicians province-wide and can tap into this resource via email, phone, and virtual meetings. As we transition to our Provincial Electronic Medical Record, you will also be able to share patient information in real-time with senior clinicians to assist in providing high-quality care.

Required Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program or bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program with related experience. Active or eligible registration and practice permit with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta.

Preferred Qualifications:

Alberta Aides to Daily Living (AADL) Authorizer status and clinical experience in various health care settings.
