Our client is seeking a candidate with a strong interest, experience, and ability to provide family-centered nursing care to newborn patients and families. The ideal candidate should have certification in a relevant specialty area, along with charge nurse experience and leadership training.

Your Responsibilities:

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will:

  • Competently utilize the nursing process in providing direct patient care to high-risk infants in a Level 2 NICU.
  • Involve and advocate for the family in all matters of care.
  • Maintain a disciplined and family-centered care environment.
  • Independently and effectively make decisions and adapt to changing situations.
  • Organize and set priorities to ensure quality patient care.
  • Build commitment and trust with clients and co-workers.
  • Promote and maintain a safe work environment.

    • Job Description:

    In your role, you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities, and populations while ensuring their safety and well-being. Your duties will include:

  • Utilizing nursing processes through critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making.
  • Teaching, counseling, and advocating on behalf of patients and their families.
  • Supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion, and maintenance.
  • Providing safe, quality patient and family-centered care.

    • Compensation:

    • Provisional Permit Holders will be paid $39.58 /hour – $54.16/hour.
    • Upon registration, the pay rate will be adjusted in accordance with applicable agreements.

    • Temporary Employee Class: Temp F/T Benefits

    • Length of Shift in weeks: 12
    • Shifts per cycle: 40
    • Shift Pattern: Days, Nights, Weekends
    • Minimum Salary: $43.26
    • Maximum Salary: $59.21

    Required Qualifications:

  • Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
  • Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
  • Completion of additional free courses if not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five years.

    • Additional Required Qualifications:

  • Basic computer skills.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
  • Competence in relevant technical nursing skills.
  • Willingness to learn new skills as required.
  • Ability to work shift work and meet the physical demands of the job.

    • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Baccalaureate degree preferred.
  • Current NRP certification.
  • Recent Level 2 NICU experience.
  • Charge Nurse experience.
