Job Overview

Our client is seeking a Long Haul Truck Driver for a permanent full-time position based in Edmonton, AB. Visa sponsorship may be considered for international applicants, including those with or without a valid Canadian work permit.

Job Details

• Salary: $36.50 per hour / 36.5 hours per week
• Workplace: On site
• Vacancies: 2
• Terms of Employment: Permanent employment, full time

Responsibilities

• Address customers’ complaints or concerns.
• Coach colleagues on new methods or work techniques.
• Maintain professionalism in customer service.
• Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy.
• Load and unload goods.
• Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
• Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment.
• Pay and receive payments for goods.
• Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections and oversee all aspects of the vehicle.
• Transport and handle dangerous goods.

Qualifications

• Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
• Experience: Experience is an asset.
• Driver’s License: Class 1 or A required.
• Languages: English.

Skills and Additional Information

• Valid passport required.
• Valid driver’s licence required.
• Able to handle heavy loads (up to 23 kg / 50 lbs).
• Work conditions are physically demanding and require attention to detail.
• Team player.
